Chiropractic Assessment and Management of Patellofemoral Pain

Patellofemoral Pain Syndrome (PFPS) is one of the most common knee problems, with an incidence rate among the general population as high as 40%. Some chiropractors regularly manage cases of PFPS, which often presents as pain, inflammation, imbalance and instability.
This literature review presents a clinical assessment of PFPS and highlights management considerations.

Included is a discussion of the most relevant components of patient management:

* natural history of PFPS
* key patient history questions to ask
* important physical and orthopedic tests
* diagnostic imaging
* manipulation of the knee
* rehabilitation
