WFC Documents the Global Advance of Chiropractic

The World Federation of Chiropractic has announced the publication of The Global Advance of Chiropractic: The World Federation of Chiropractic 1998-2013.

The 260-page history, which includes an impressive 600 photos, "charts the new acceptance and international growth of the profession during the last generation," according to WFC Secretary-General, David Chapman-Smith. The book is written by Dr. Reed Phillips and includes a preface authored by Drs. Louis Sportelli and Gerry Clum, past WFC presidents. For more information including sample chapters, visit www.wfc.org.

National to Conduct Study of Orthotics for Back Pain

National University of Health Sciences recently received a $406,000 grant from Foot Levelers, Inc., to conduct a three-year study on the value of orthotics for treating chronic low back pain. The randomized, controlled clinical trial will randomly allocate 225 volunteers with chronic LBP into three groups: an orthotic treatment group, a chiropractic plus orthotic treatment group and a wait-list control group; and assess perceived pain and functional health status at six and 12 weeks after randomization.
