The proposed merger of the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and Federation of Chiropractic Licensing Boards was approved by NBCE delegates and FCLB members at their respective annual meetings, held jointly in Atlanta, Ga., this year. Per the new bylaws, the new entity takes the NBCE name, with FCLB continuing as a department within NBCE. The federation will continue to enjoy Board of Directors representation on what will be a single, expanded board.

Santa Monica, Ca -- Installed as executive officers of the Los Angeles County Chiropractic Society for the 1990-91 term are (seated left to right) Robert Hurley, D.C., secretary (Los Angeles); Gene D. Coffman, D.C., past president (Pasadena); (standing left to right) Glenn Fischel, D.C., president (Santa Monica); Alan Jeans, D.C., (San Pedro); Walter Koch, D.C., second vice president (Covina); and Bradley Sullivan, D.C., first vice president (Van Nuys). The Los Angeles County Chiropractic Society (LACCS) is made up of 10 local chiropractic associations. Through its 700 chiropractor members located throughout Los Angeles county, LACCS seeks to increase awareness and understanding of chiropractic. One major LACCS program is HOPE Day (Helping Other People Eat), a countywide food donation effort that in February 1990 collected 60,000 pounds of food for LIFE (Love is Feeding Everyone) -- the largest single contribution ever presented to the organization. HOPE Day 1991 (scheduled for February 14) will again benefit LIFE.
