Sherman's Accreditation Deferred

Southern California's Denied

By Editorial Staff

Council on Chiropractic Education (CCE) accreditation for Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic was deferred by the CCE's Commission on Accreditation (COA) for a period of not more than 18 months. Sherman was given a list of particular non-compliance issues that COA feels the college can resolve within that period.

Southern California College of Chiropractic was denied accreditation by COA. The commission denies accreditation when they feel there are so many issues of non-compliance, that it would be impossible for the institution to resolve them in an 18 month period. Southern California may re-apply at any time, but the process of self-study and examination would take at least one year to complete.

Pennsylvania College of Chiropractic (which just recently removed "Straight" from its name) was denied accreditation by the COA last January.
