Planting Our Feet
I have just returned from a visit to Taiwan and the interior of mainland China. There was a saying that I discovered in the SuHo Paper Museum in Taipei, Taiwan. It reads: "We understand we have to plant our feet on solid ground to practice our dreams, little by little, to make them last for good." Of course, this made me think about acupuncture and Oriental medicine, both through it's connection to the past and where it is going in the future.
Stop Eczema Itch With Acupuncture
An estimated 15 million people in the United States suffer from eczema, which usually looks like dry, scaly red skin patches accompanied by intense itching. Standard treatment to reduce inflammation and itchiness can include corticosteroids, which have some serious side effects, including cataracts, glaucoma, gastrointestinal effects, hypertension, osteoporosis and weight gain.
Uterine Fibroids
The encouraging news about uterine fibroid tumors is that they are almost always benign, especially for women in their 30s and 40s. However, they can cause a multitude of discomforts, including heavy menstrual bleeding (menorrhagia), painful menstruation (dysmenorrhea), backaches, and/or abdominal or pelvic bloating and heaviness.

SIOM Approved for Public Health Degree

"Whatever Legal Means May Be Necessary to Remove DuVall's License Should Be Explored"

Dear Editor:

Thanks for including the article on Dr. Charles DuVall,DC (see "Dr.

DuVall Schools New Jersey Health Benefits Commission on Limiting Chiropractic Services" in the April 5 issue). I don't understand why Dr. DuVall has been allowed to keep his chiropractic license from the Ohio State Board of Chiropractic Examiners. It appears to me he has publicly disavowed the chiropractic profession by joining the orthopractic group.

The chiropractic oath states, in part:

"I do hereby affirm before God and these assembled witnesses that I will keep this oath and stipulation: to hold in esteem and respect those who taught me this chiropractic healing art; to follow the methods of treatment which, according to my ability and judgment, I consider for the benefit of my patients; to abstain from whatever is deleterious and mischievous; to stand ready at all times to serve my fellow man without distinction of race, color or creed ... while I continue to keep this oath unviolated, may it be granted me to enjoy life and the practice of the chiropractic healing art, respected by men at all times."

The Ohio State Board of Chiropractic Examiners should be questioned for granting a chiropractic license to Mr. DuVall. Whatever legal means may be necessary to remove DuVall's license should be explored.
