Treating Complex Multilayered Cases, Part 2
In the
October 2009 issue of Acupuncture Today, I wrote on how to use pulse diagnosis to distinguish patterns as excess, deficiency or complex excess with deficiency. I ended that article by saying that most complex layered cases that enter the clinic will show excess/deficiency patterns affecting the liver, stomach and spleen. Our job, as herbalists, is to evaluate the various stagnation and deficiency patterns and to apply the appropriate herbal formula.

Washington State DC Is 3rd-Term Representative

By Editorial Staff

Tom Campbell, DC, (R-Roy) is in his third term in the Washington State House of Representatives. He is serving again on the health committee and as vice chairman of three committees: state government, children and family services, and rules.

Rep. Tom Campbell supported the effort to place into law the "any category of provider" provision which requires all licensed providers to be included in all policies in the state.

"The all category of provider law is changing the health insurance industry in our state," he told a recent gathering. "It will help patients to choose what is best for them, not what's best for the insurance industry. This law is among my most satisfying accomplishments in the legislature."

Dr. Campbell is a Life graduate, and has owned and operated a chiropratic clinic is Spanaway since 1983. He represents the 2nd legislative district in Pierce County, Washington.
