In the
October 2009 issue of Acupuncture Today, I wrote on how to use pulse diagnosis to distinguish patterns as excess, deficiency or complex excess with deficiency. I ended that article by saying that most complex layered cases that enter the clinic will show excess/deficiency patterns affecting the liver, stomach and spleen. Our job, as herbalists, is to evaluate the various stagnation and deficiency patterns and to apply the appropriate herbal formula.

MCS Names "Chiropractor of the Year"

The Massachusetts Chiropractic Society (MCS) has named Dr. Peter Hill of Boston as their "Chiropractor of the Year" for his outstanding service. The award was presented during the MCS convention in Sturbridge.

Dr. Hill has been the vice president of the MCS since 1993 and has served on the board since 1991. He was the president of the Greater Boston Chiropractic Society (1989-1995) and is a member of both national chiropractic associations.

Dr. Hill devised and implemented the MCS advertising program for radio, TV and billboards, and helped give the MCS a presence on the web. He also spearheaded a letter-writing campaign to include chiropractic care in all health plans.

Dr. Hill has been in private practice since 1986. He resides in Weston with wife Barbara and daughters Hannah and Melissa.
